Banana bread collapsing at the centre, preheating that seems endless, or a latch still engaged once the cleaning cycle ends? We measure what your Barrie oven truly reaches, track down whichever piece gave out and fit its replacement on the spot.
Single and double wall ovens, electric ranges and gas models tend to develop one of these faults. Our first checks are listed on each card.
A burned-through lower element, a feeble gas igniter or a dead sensor keeps the cavity cold.
We check: bake element, gas igniter, oven sensor
The probe reports the wrong number, a loose plug interrupts its signal, or a board relay sticks closed.
We check: temperature sensor, wire harness, relay board
When one element weakens, or the rear fan quits spinning, trays come out with hot and cold spots.
We check: bake element, broil element, convection fan
The latch motor stalls once self-clean finishes, or its position switch keeps signalling locked.
We check: lock motor, lock switch, door latch
Steam creeping beneath the touchpad, a chafed probe lead or ageing electronics trigger the alarm.
We check: touchpad, sensor lead, control board
A tired igniter with only a dull glow, or spill-crusted burner holes, delays ignition.
We check: igniter, burner tube, safety valve

If it remains after the oven cools and power is cycled, disconnect it and book a repair.

The cavity sensor is malfunctioning. If cycling the power does not clear it, a technician should test it.

The power went out. Press Cancel to clear the display and set the clock again.

On ranges with grate sensing, settle every grate so none wobble, then cycle the power.

Everything was burning on the bottom and raw on top. He tested both elements, replaced the weak one and confirmed the heat using a probe of his own. Perfect bakes since.
Self-clean trapped the door shut right before a big family get-together. A new latch motor went in the next morning and we cooked as planned.
Our gas range took ages to light. One new igniter and it catches right away now. Polite, punctual and reasonably priced.
A seemingly dead oven is sometimes just a settings issue. Look at these first.
Clock and mode
Following a blackout, some models refuse to warm until you program the time and select a mode.
Control lock off
Dead keys usually point to the panel lock; hold that button down until its icon goes out.
Element looks intact
With the oven cold, inspect the bottom coil for cracks or bubbled spots.
Temperature test
Set 175°C (350°F), wait twenty minutes and compare an oven thermometer to the display.
